Coats that transform children into delightful animals are the brainchild of two remarkable mothers. These innovative moms, who bonded during swim class with their first children, founded a clothing line called “Olive & Vince,” named after their little ones.
“We came together to learn how to make kids’ clothing, and soon Nat had an inspiring idea that she couldn’t shake: Olive & Vince children’s wear,” shared Anna with Home Insemination Kit. “I loved the concept, and we quickly got to work on our Etsy shop and shaping our brand.” Based in the United Kingdom, they ship their creations globally. Nat, the visionary in their partnership, came up with the fantastic idea of designing coats adorned with little fox ears, a soft furry chest, and a fluffy tail. “As soon as I heard it, I knew it would be a hit,” Anna noted. And it certainly was. The duo has been busy managing their Etsy store, which serves as their primary sales platform.
“I spent months refining the patterns, and by late summer 2015, we introduced our Fox, Wolf, Ladybug, and Bumblebee coats,” Anna explained. “They gained immediate popularity, and when they went viral on social media at the end of last year, we were overwhelmed with orders and requests.”
If you’re considering one of these unique coats as a Christmas gift, be sure to place your order soon, as each custom piece requires about six weeks to create before shipping. “Every coat that goes to a new home is treasured, which fills us with immense pride,” Anna shared. “Handmade by us, each garment can take nearly an entire workday to finish, so we pour a lot of love into every item.”
With two dedicated moms leading the way, you can trust that the products are designed with children in mind. “Our main goal is to create practical, comfortable, and hassle-free clothing for toddlers, firmly believing that beauty should never compromise comfort, nor should it overlook practical issues like easily dressing and undressing little ones,” they emphasized. “You won’t find any uncomfortable denim, scratchy lace, or clothing that hinders a toddler’s movement. Everything here is made with comfort as the top priority.”
Since their launch, the talented moms have introduced bear, bunny, and cat coats, along with animal-themed capes. While all coats are crafted with care, the ladies do have a favorite. “I’d have to say Mr. Fox! He was the first design and remains our most popular. I can’t help but take a moment to appreciate each one I make before it goes out,” Anna remarked. “He’s just so cool with that bright orange, fluffy white chest and tail, and those adorable ears!”
With young children of their own, it’s no surprise that the moms dress their kids in their latest creations. Anna revealed, “My daughter proudly wore her fox coat last winter, and this year she’ll be sporting a bunny if I can find the time to whip one up for her!”
