One of the greatest joys of blogging is the opportunity to find humor in the everyday chaos of life. Whether it’s the black marker my daughter Lily used to label my belongings or the red one Ben employed to add some flair to his brother, there’s usually a comedic twist to even the most mundane situations. This platform has helped me transform potential frustrations into laughter, which is undoubtedly a positive thing.
However, I recently encountered a situation that offered no comedic relief whatsoever: my home has been invaded by lice. There’s absolutely nothing funny about the piles of laundry I’m drowning in, the noxious-smelling shampoo treatments that leave us gagging, or the fact that every stuffed animal has been sealed away in bags. And I certainly don’t find it amusing that I’m paying a mobile lice expert $100 an hour tomorrow to make sure our heads are nit-free.
But the thought of unintentionally spreading lice to a Hollywood star, perhaps even causing an outbreak among A-listers? Now that gives me a bit of a chuckle. Just a smidge.
