“I want to give my mom $30,000 to help her get a food truck because it’s been her dream,” she stated during a press conference shortly after winning the gold medal, adding that she promised to do this five years ago. “She’s going to launch her own little cooking business, and she makes the best barbecue!”
Talia mentioned that her mother had been using a small portable grill to prepare and sell sandwiches, a setup that wasn’t exactly the most legal. However, with this new opportunity, her mom can finally take her culinary passion to the next level, and they’ve even chosen a name for the food truck: The Lady Bug!
Long before this generous announcement, Talia made it clear how much her mom means to her. “She has been the strongest woman I know. I feel incredibly blessed to have her in my life.
