Qai Qai is a special member of our family, and we hope The Adventures of Qai Qai will give others a new way to welcome Qai Qai into their own home.”
The origins of Qai Qai trace back to four years ago when Williams and her partner, tech entrepreneur Leo Jennings, aimed to provide a Black baby doll for Olympia. Jennings reflected on the importance of this choice, emphasizing the role of representation in shaping a child’s perspective. Over time, Qai Qai evolved beyond being just a toy; she became a symbol of fun, bravery, and resilience.
The book celebrates the imaginative relationship between Olympia and Qai Qai, blending themes of friendship and creativity. “The Adventures of Qai Qai is a story that is both practical and magical!
