I have to express my frustration with reality star Samantha Brown after her recent body-shaming antics that have caught widespread attention. And let me clarify, I’m not a die-hard fan of Ella and her partner, Noah; I haven’t followed their lives closely since their reality show ended. They could be the kindest people or total jerks—I have no clue. What I do know is that Samantha’s recent behavior is simply unacceptable.

Samantha’s actions are downright appalling. It’s not just about who she targeted; as a compassionate individual, I can’t stand idly by while body shaming occurs, regardless of the recipient.

What Happened?

In a rather surprising move, Samantha took to her Instagram story to post photos of her brother, Noah, and his wife, Ella, who were relaxing at the beach. From what I gather, there’s some tension in their relationship, as Samantha has previously referred to them in less-than-flattering terms. So, why the sudden interest? It feels like unnecessary drama, but that’s beside the point here.

In a post showcasing Ella in a bikini, Samantha captioned it: “Yay Ella’s pregnant! I hope she has a little girl this time. Cute bump.” This comment is not only insensitive but also particularly cruel, considering Ella has openly expressed her desire for a second child for some time. If she’s not expecting yet, it could mean things aren’t progressing as she hoped—something that should remain private. For Samantha to mock her about her body when she knows this is beyond inappropriate.

Then, she posted another photo of Noah shirtless with the quip, “I wonder what my brother’s having.” Oh, Samantha, so original! Body shaming is such a unique angle!

Fans quickly informed Noah and Ella that Samantha was making these claims before they could, prompting Noah to respond to a concerned follower with, “Ella is not pregnant. Just being body shamed.”

The Larger Issue

While it’s easy to focus on the specifics of Noah and Ella’s bodies, the larger issue here is that this behavior is simply unacceptable. Especially from a family member, regardless of any existing rifts in their relationship. Samantha chose to attack their physical appearance to inflict emotional pain, and that is deeply troubling.

Why did she resort to such low tactics? I suspect it’s because body shaming is a common form of verbal abuse that society still tolerates. In this instance, since they’re public figures, some might argue that they “asked for it” due to their celebrity status. That’s a dangerous and flawed perspective. Even if someone is a public figure, it doesn’t justify body shaming.

Regardless of their past actions or appearances, targeting someone’s body is never justified. Body shaming is a form of abuse that no one deserves, regardless of their public persona.

I’ve been vocal against body shaming no matter who is on the receiving end—celebrity or average person, it doesn’t matter. If you resort to body shaming, you’ve crossed a line.
