While Page has not publicly addressed the casting controversy, he did tweet, seemingly in reference to the situation, “Hearing about these conversations hurts no less now than it did back then. The clarifications almost hurt more, tbh. Still just doing my thing. Still we do the work. We still fly.”
In addition to facing criticism over racial discrimination, Johns has also been accused of mistreating actors and colleagues in a recent profile in The Hollywood Reporter.
