PSA: Women Crave Pleasure Products More Than Essential Oils

Last Friday night, I donned my favorite cozy sweater and jeans for an essential oils gathering scheduled for the late hour of 7 p.m. Typically, I would be in my pajamas with a messy bun, eagerly awaiting my kids’ bedtime, but on this night, I looked forward to adult conversation complemented by a glass of wine. I was ready to embrace my inner mom party animal.

Having heard numerous claims about essential oils being miraculous remedies, I was eager to expand my knowledge, especially since everyone seemed to be raving about the wonders of these tiny bottles. The highlight of the evening was the wild orange oil drizzled over fresh pineapple; I had no idea how much I needed that in my life.

Upon arriving, I recognized a few familiar faces among a crowd of well-dressed women, ranging from their mid-30s to mid-60s. This was a pretty prim group, with many in sweater sets and pearls, while others opted for turtlenecks. As conversation flowed and wine was poured, I settled into a cozy spot on the sectional sofa. To my amusement, these ladies were practically swooning over the wild orange and pineapple combo.

In a moment of jest, I suggested we host a sex toy party next time instead of just discussing oils. My goal was to add some levity to the evening, get everyone laughing, and then smoothly transition into the benefits of lavender and peppermint oils before calling it a night.

However, my flippant comment seemed to ignite a firestorm of interest. Suddenly, I found myself on the receiving end of curious glances and whispers. One woman leaned in and asked, “Are you serious about hosting a sex toy party? I’ve always wanted to attend one. Please, give me a date!”

The enthusiasm in the room was palpable, and I quickly realized my comment had struck a chord. The conversation veered off into questions about whether we would test the toys, how to ensure we liked what we bought, and what to wear to such an event. It felt like I was preparing for a wild night out rather than a simple gathering.

I committed to planning this party, recognizing that these women needed a break from the everyday grind. I learned that at these events, attendees could discreetly purchase their personal items, perhaps a Vibrating Vinnie or a heated rubber toy. And I thought, if I’m hosting, I certainly want to know what they’re picking out for their Saturday nights (and likely other nights too, judging by their excitement).

In true party planning fashion, I envisioned serving some cheeky snacks, like gummy candies in fun shapes. If I’m going to throw a sex toy party, it will be one for the books—classy and memorable.

That night, I not only discovered that frankincense could work wonders, but I also realized that while women appreciate essential oils, what they truly desire is some private time with a pleasure device.
