Peter Johnson

Did the contestants from this season of The Bachelor miss their chance to confront Peter about his decisions?

It’s safe to say this Bachelor season has felt like a marathon. Throughout the episodes, Peter Johnson has faced relentless criticism from fans who have grown increasingly exasperated with his tendency to indulge petty drama, his indecisiveness, and his overall lackluster performance as the show’s lead.

When the “Women Tell All” episode finally aired, viewers anticipated a showdown as Peter came face-to-face with the women who had lived through the season, rather than just watching it unfold from the comfort of their couches. Expectations were high for some explosive confrontations.

As the episode progressed and Peter stepped onto the stage, nervously quipping, “I never thought I’d be surrounded by so many exes, but here we are,” it seemed like the moment for fireworks was about to arrive. However, as he settled into the hot seat and began to field questions, it quickly became clear that even Chris Harrison and the women he had dismissed earlier were surprisingly gentle with him.

Peter shared his thoughts on what it was like to be The Bachelor, recycling familiar lines about his initial naivete when signing up for the show. “I was dating so many women, but when I was with each of them, I tried to be completely present,” he stated, noting, “Honestly, all the relationships that I got to explore were my favorite part. I’ll never have an experience like that again.”

As viewers anticipated some tough questions, the women instead began expressing gratitude. Kelsey was the first to thank him, followed by Victoria F., who even apologized for her behavior throughout the season. “I just want to say thank you for your patience with me this whole season,” she said. “Seriously, how did you deal with me?”

After a commercial break, one contestant finally challenged Peter. “After watching everything back, do you regret giving your time to girls who created drama instead of those who were here for the right reasons?” Savannah asked. “Do you regret it?”

Peter replied, “I’ve seen a lot of talk about me rewarding drama. But I can only share my perspective. I followed my heart… I did my best.” He added, “I made many mistakes, but if I can learn and grow from them, it was all worth it.”

And that was that. Unless more questions arise during “After the Final Rose,” this season of The Bachelor is wrapping up just as awkwardly as it has unfolded. Thankfully, there’s The Bachelorette to look forward to.
