“I hope to raise imaginative children.”

Jaden Cole is ready to embrace fatherhood with a cool twist. As he eagerly anticipated the birth of his son, reportedly born in May, he opened up in a candid interview with Dazed, discussing a range of topics, especially his relationship with partner, Mia, and his hopes for their future family.
The couple first crossed paths in 2015 when Jaden was a supporting act on Mia’s tour, and they developed a profound friendship that blossomed into romance in 2020. Jaden reflected, “I like to think that fate had a hand in it.” He affectionately referred to Mia as “my partner” throughout the discussion and shared a memorable moment from his first meeting with her family in their hometown, saying, “It was one of the most surreal moments I’ve ever had.”
Jaden, who has roots in the Caribbean, spoke about how this connection has helped him rediscover his heritage. “I was always taught about my culture, but I never fully experienced it until I was older,” he noted.
Vision for Fatherhood
When asked about his vision for fatherhood, Jaden expressed, “I will always encourage my children to keep their imagination alive, even as they grow up. I’m a huge fan of cartoons — I’ve watched shows like Teletubbies, Blue’s Clues, Yo Gabba Gabba, and Peppa Pig. I want to raise open-minded children who embrace diversity. Not to paint them as perfect, but I just want them to be cool kids with cool parents.”
Jaden and Mia, who have crafted a unique persona as a couple, aim to embody a “fairytale with a contemporary twist.” They are committed to fostering an environment of inclusion and diverse perspectives in their household. Jaden remarked, “It’s wonderful that we can contribute to this. Diversity and versatility are key values for us, and they will be woven into our family.”
Shifting Priorities
While Jaden is working on new music, his priorities have shifted, with fatherhood taking center stage. Although there hasn’t been an official announcement from the couple, various outlets have reported their son’s arrival on May 13. This marks the first child for both of these creative icons.
