Katy Jensen serves as the Senior Editor of Personal Stories at Home Insemination Kit. In her role, she curates first-person essays centered around parenting experiences. Katy earned her BFA in Painting and Drawing from The State University of New York at New Paltz, where she also minored in creative writing. As an original blogger since 2004, her work caught the attention of House & Garden magazine (now defunct), leading her to become their inaugural online editor. She later collaborated with the founding editorial teams of domino and Fit Pregnancy magazines, both of which have since closed.
After taking a break from publishing to focus on her family, Katy dedicated her time to teaching creative process design classes in her community. She believes that creating art is intrinsically linked to storytelling, and she excels at helping others uncover their narratives. Katy resides in Massachusetts in a charming old house by the sea, where she enjoys gardening and chatting with neighbors about flowers and life.
