Surprisingly, it filled me with gratitude. Every time I walked off set, I was reminded of how fortunate I am to return to my wonderful family. How do you juggle motherhood and your career?
Motherhood brings such a profound sense of responsibility and love that it often overshadows everything else. I’ve always known my role as a mother is to ensure my children are happy, educated, safe, and have every opportunity in life. Every mother likely feels that way. I truly hope I’m a good mother. I believe my children are thriving, and I’m grateful for the balance in my life that allows me to explore various emotional depths in my work.
What principles guide you?
Although I receive labels like “brave” and “fearless” for some of my roles, I don’t consider myself to be fearless. Acting doesn’t intimidate me; it excites me and brings joy. True fear for me would be things like bungee jumping or riding in a fast motorboat, which terrify me. I’ve faced rejection for being too attractive or not attractive enough; it all feels subjective. The industry doesn’t make me insecure. At 54, I’m comfortable with where I am in my life.
