Understanding Diaper Need

Diaper need is a serious issue, with 5 million babies and toddlers living in low-income families who often can’t afford this essential item. Unfortunately, government assistance programs don’t consider diapers a basic necessity, leaving many parents in a tough spot. In fact, 60% of parents report missing work or school because they lack the necessary diapers for childcare.

The National Diaper Bank Network, founded with help from Huggies, is a nonprofit dedicated to addressing this issue across the country. They support 200,000 children each month and have received over 220 million diapers and wipes from Huggies alone.

Fun Fact About “Suavemente”

“Suavemente,” the official song for the #MerengueForMoms movement, is a beloved track by Elvis Crespo, released in 1999. Billboard ranked it among the top Latin albums of the past 50 years. Crespo generously donated the song for this cause, stating, “Suavemente means ‘softly, smoothly’—just like the feeling every baby deserves.”
