This holiday season, Airbnb is offering a unique opportunity to stay overnight in the legendary Chicago mansion featured in Home Alone, complete with its famous booby traps!
Few films capture the holiday spirit quite like Home Alone. Whether you’re young or simply young at heart, the joy of watching Kevin McAllister defend his home from bumbling burglars while his family enjoys a trip to Paris is timeless. Now, you can elevate your holiday experience by reserving a stay in the actual house from the beloved film series.
In celebration of the new Disney+ reboot, Home Sweet Home Alone, Airbnb has made the iconic mansion available for a one-night stay for only $25 starting December 7. Get ready to relive the magic on December 12, complete with numerous features that will make you feel like the star of your very own Home Alone adventure!
The house will be beautifully decorated, just as it was in the classic film, featuring a fully adorned Christmas tree and sparkling lights. Guests will find aftershave in the master bathroom—yelling into the mirror is optional but highly encouraged! Plus, you’ll have access to an array of ’90s snacks, including delicious Chicago deep-dish pizza, as you enjoy a private screening of Home Sweet Home Alone.
One of the most exciting aspects of this stay? The property is stocked with “booby traps galore.” But don’t worry—guests will be the ones setting the traps, not dodging them.
However, brace yourself for a meet-and-greet with a real tarantula, although you might want to skip that part if you’re not feeling brave. The stay will be hosted by Max Thompson, the older brother of Kevin in the Home Alone series. “We may all be older and wiser now, but holiday fun is for everyone,” Max said in a press release. “This year, come and enjoy the holidays not-so-home-alone at my parents’ place!”
In the spirit of giving, Airbnb will also make a donation to Chicago’s La Rabida Children’s Hospital, which focuses on improving the quality of life for patients with complex needs, disabilities, and chronic illnesses.
Keep in mind, this experience isn’t a contest. Those eager to book must pay the $25 fee, along with taxes and charges, and will be responsible for their own travel to Chicago. Reservations open December 7 at 1 p.m.
