Gilmore Girls enthusiasts can rejoice as they visit Luke’s Diner! On Oct. 5, fans are invited to rush to their nearest Luke’s Diner pop-up for a chance to enjoy complimentary coffee, just like Lorelai and Rory would. This is not a drill! With the anticipation of the beloved mother-daughter duo returning to our screens, Netflix has transformed 200 cafes across the U.S. and Canada into Luke’s Diner, providing a true Gilmore Girls experience.

In celebration of the 16th anniversary of the show’s original premiere, Netflix is treating fans to a coffee lover’s paradise. Baristas, channeling their inner Luke—though perhaps not his signature grumpy demeanor—will don blue hats and aprons, serving approximately 250 twelve-ounce cups at each venue, as reported by Eater Detroit.

Devoted fans, affectionately known as “Gillies,” are expected to line up early for the 7 a.m. opening. With at least one Luke’s Diner pop-up in every state, many cities will have multiple locations, catering to those who might want to take the morning off work to indulge in a hefty 36 ounces of coffee! Just me?

The excitement builds as the revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, is set to premiere on November 25, coincidentally on this writer’s birthday. What a spectacular gift! Like many fans, I’ve been binge-watching all seven seasons in preparation, and I’m also contemplating attending the Gilmore Girls Fan Fest, which will turn an entire New England town into a real-life Stars Hollow.

Fans will have until noon to discover a “fun surprise” tucked beneath their custom Gilmore Girls coffee sleeve. As a true fan myself, I’ll have a contributor on-site at one of Seattle’s three pop-up locations. If you plan to attend, check out the full list of Luke’s Diners and share your photos with us—just be sure to keep your cell phone out of Luke’s sight!

Take, for instance, a fan named Mia Johnson, who, upon hearing about the Luke’s Diner event, quickly rearranged her college schedule to drive from Tacoma to Seattle with her mother, Linda Green. Mia shared with us that she first discovered the show at age 12 and still enjoys rewatching it today, even getting her mom hooked.

The line at the downtown Seattle pop-up wrapped around the block, despite the drizzly morning weather. Barista Ryan Mitchell expressed his excitement, noting that he’s a longtime fan of the series. “I watch it all the time!” he exclaimed. With three sisters, he’s seen his fair share, so when Netflix reached out about bringing Luke’s Diner to Seattle, it was an immediate yes!
