It’s important to clarify that my contributors and I hold an immense love for our children. We celebrate their achievements with joy and share in their sorrows with heartfelt empathy. Our utmost desire is for their happiness, and we are undeniably transformed by the experience of motherhood.

There are countless platforms filled with touching narratives about parental love, and occasionally, you may find them here as well. However, more often than not, we need a space to express the less glamorous aspects of motherhood.

While it may be commonplace on other sites to label a fellow mother as selfish, to question her dedication, or to dismiss her experiences as trivial, we do not condone that behavior here.

If you’re excited about spending the entire summer with your children, that’s fantastic for you! But that doesn’t mean everyone else should feel the same elation about three solid months of togetherness with theirs.

Motherhood is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Life is rarely black and white. Each of us, whether we admit it or not, has moments we’d rather forget, and the last thing we need is to face judgment for those instances.

Not in this space.
