Meet 32-year-old designer Mark from Dublin, Ireland, who wanted to play a little joke on his wife and friends, because, after all, isn’t that part of being a family? He digitally manipulated images of his 18-month-old daughter, Lily, into various precarious situations like driving a car down a busy road, wandering into an attic, sitting close to a counter filled with sharp knives, and even balancing on a fence over a body of water.
On his Imgur page, Mark explained, “I thought it would be amusing to see how worried I could make family members by placing someone so small in these scenarios.” At the time, however, little Lily was quite fragile, having recently battled a rare immune disorder. “She spent a large portion of her first year in the hospital receiving chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, which was her only chance for recovery,” reported Health Today. “After searching through 27 million potential donors, only three were found to be suitable, and a kind lady from Germany stepped up to help.”
Mark’s Humor and Awareness
When some users commented that they had tossed their kids higher, Mark humorously replied, “This is more of an inside joke! She had just gotten out of the hospital and was especially delicate, which freaked out our friends and family.” He added, “I forgot the internet wouldn’t know the backstory.
