It seems even celebrities like Courteney Cox can embarrass their teens! In a recent chat with InStyle, the former Friends star revealed that her 17-year-old daughter, Coco, is “mortified” by some of her social media antics, particularly her TikTok dance videos. “Coco gets really embarrassed by a lot of the things I put on Instagram,” the 57-year-old actress shared. “Sometimes, I’ll find a TikTok dance and share it, and she’ll say, ‘Mom, that is so over.’”

Cox recounted a moment where she performed a dance that left Coco blushing. “Once, I did this dance, and she was mortified,” Cox laughed. “Honestly, looking back, I’m kind of mortified too.”

Despite the occasional embarrassment, Cox embraces her quirky social media presence, aiming to showcase her fun personality. She shares everything from unique piano performances to cooking videos, along with moments spent with her famous friends and boyfriend. “I thought, ‘Am I supposed to be aloof and mysterious?’ But that’s not me. The whole point of Instagram is to show a side of yourself … I want to create something that feels silly yet creative,” she explained.

While Cox enjoys the likes and positive feedback, she also acknowledges that there are critics lurking in the comments. “At one point, I thought, ‘Wow! People are so nice, this feels great!’ But then I realized that if you keep scrolling, you’ll find some really mean comments,” she noted, reflecting on the harshness of social media.

We’d take the occasional teenage embarrassment over internet trolls any day—well, most days!
