Prepare yourself for some serious emotions—this IKEA commercial is a tearjerker. Just a few weeks ago, I snapped a picture of my 5-year-old son giving me a peck on the cheek. His eye-roll was a stark reminder that he won’t always be my little boy. Before long, he may not need me to settle in beside him for storytime at bedtime or walk him to the school entrance. It’s likely that phrases like, “Mommy, I love you most!” will become relics of the past.

Time to pour a glass of wine.

IKEA gets it; they understand that this fleeting period of childhood won’t last forever. Their latest advertisement poignantly captures the essence of motherhood, reminding us that regardless of how much our kids grow, they will always be our cherished babies.

I know—it sounds cliché, but I urge you to watch the video. Thanks, IKEA, for the tears.
