Book Tour Disappointment: A Cautionary Tale

In the frenzy of preparing for my appearance on the Morning Show and juggling various engagements throughout the day, I completely overlooked the fact that I had a reading scheduled at Barnes & Noble at 7 PM.

We arrived at 6:45, and to my dismay, the room was entirely vacant—absolutely empty. By 6:55, I peeked out and saw a grand total of two attendees: a pair of octogenarians who seemed to have no clue who I was; they were simply seeking a peaceful corner to relax. Talk about a confidence booster!

Fortunately, a handful of other people eventually trickled in, sparing me from the embarrassment of addressing solely my newfound elderly fans. However, standing in front of a vast room with only ten attendees was a humbling experience—one that I hope to never repeat. So, if I’m in your area next time, please come out and support me! I promise to make more noise about it this time.
