“What hurt the most was that Jamie bore the brunt of the negativity,” Johnson wrote. “The media and fans were merciless; they said awful things about Jamie that I can’t bring myself to repeat.” The backlash from the film led to a significant decline in Jamie’s trust in his father. “When Jamie asked about being emancipated, my heart shattered. Thankfully, he ultimately chose not to pursue it, but it pains me to think I hurt my child,” Johnson shared.
