Brianne Hogan
Hello! I’m Brianne, a writer who primarily focuses on lifestyle topics for Home Insemination Kit, covering areas like health and wellness, as well as sex and relationships. I have a penchant for revisiting ‘90s films and sharing my thoughts on them—like my take on “Love, Actually” (not great) and “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” (still a classic). I earned my degree in Dramatic Literature, Theatre History, and Cinema Studies from NYU. Unsure of my next steps, I spent time waiting tables while penning some off-off-off-Broadway plays, some of which made it to festivals in New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto. Eventually, blogging became my career, which evolved into freelance writing over the past decade, during which I also held positions as an associate editor and a communications officer for a non-profit animal welfare organization. My work has been featured in more than 50 online publications, such as The Washington Post, the BBC, Elle Canada, and BuzzFeed. Additionally, I’ve authored two books published by Adams Media and Running Press.
I share my home with a black cat named Olive and six plants, each named after characters from Friends—assuming I don’t manage to kill them first. (Fingers crossed for the plants, not the cat. Just kidding—Olive is my everything!)
