This year, I’m not going to sugarcoat my Christmas desires. I’m going to lay it all out there. Here’s what I truly want for Christmas:
1. New Yoga Pants
First on my list are some new yoga pants. As soon as I step through the door, I swap out my real pants and inevitably wear out the yoga ones crawling around with my kids.
2. A Quiet Car Ride
I would love just one car ride without the incessant Frozen soundtrack blaring in the background. Just once, please!
3. A Family Photo
I’m hoping for a family photo where everyone is looking at the camera—no blurriness or blinking allowed. I want to print that picture and display it proudly in our living room as evidence that my kids can indeed look clean and wear matching outfits.
4. New Earrings
New earrings are also on my wish list, even if I can only wear them on date nights, since my little one thinks they are toys and yanks on them until my ears are sore.
5. A Spa Day
A spa day would be heavenly. I long for a moment to feel like a woman again, rather than just a frazzled mom in a messy bun, yoga pants, and remnants of baby food stuck in my hair.
6. A New White Comforter
I could really use a new white comforter for our bedroom, providing a touch of romance in a house filled with chaos.
7. Gift Cards and Shopping
Gift cards to my go-to stores and a full day of child-free shopping would be a dream come true. Bonus points if everything I try on makes me look fabulous!
8. A Year’s Supply of Chocolate
I’m asking for a year’s supply of chocolate—and I fully intend to keep it all to myself.
9. Planned Date Nights
Planned and paid date nights would be fantastic; I’m tired of postponing our plans until we end up dragging the kids along to fast food joints.
10. A Massage Gift Card
A gift card for a massage would be appreciated as well, especially considering the last time I visited, the masseuse suggested I get them more frequently—even before the kids came along.
11. New Perfume
New perfume is on my list too. I’d love to smell like anything other than baby poop and spit-up for a change.
12. A New Vacuum
A new vacuum would help me manage the crumbs and dirt my kids scatter all over the carpets, and I might even enjoy using it.
13. A Thoughtful Gift from My Husband
I also wish for a thoughtful gift from my husband—something that shows he’s put effort into it, reminding me why I fell in love with him in the first place.
14. Maid Service
A maid service to deep clean my house would be ideal, and I’d prefer to be out of sight when they discover the hidden stash of week-old food my toddler has tucked away.
15. A Gym Membership
A gym membership would ease my guilt for indulging in that third cookie after the kids are in bed.
16. Stress-Free Date Night
Lastly, I want a date night where I don’t have to stress about making reservations or finding a babysitter.
Fulfill any one of these wishes from my Christmas list, and then we can discuss a little mistletoe magic!
