The 2014 Thanksgiving Initiative

In 2014, a heartfelt movement began that would change the lives of many families. It all started with a few mothers who expressed their inability to afford Thanksgiving dinners and a willing group of readers who stepped up to assist them. Our aim wasn’t to change the world; it was simply to help one family at a time.

Then something extraordinary occurred. More families came forward to share their challenges, and numerous others joined in to contribute, donating amounts ranging from a dollar to several hundred. This grassroots effort allowed over four hundred families to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal they might have otherwise missed, leading to the establishment of our nonprofit organization.

Every day at Home Insemination Kit, we celebrate diverse perspectives from mothers everywhere. Despite our differences, the universal bond of a mother’s love for her children unites us. What can be more deeply maternal than the desire to nurture and provide for our families? This is the essence of the Thanksgiving Initiative. Our shared struggles for our children’s well-being create a strong community. So far, more than 4,500 families have benefited from our efforts, with last year alone seeing us fulfill 2,765 applications.

How You Can Help

If you are in a position to assist a family in need, consider donating. Just fifty dollars can cover the cost of an entire dinner. You can also choose to contribute a smaller amount and join with other donors or make a larger donation to support multiple families.

Additionally, we have an exciting opportunity for you to do good while treating yourself. On November 17, Simon & Schuster will release the “Guide to Surviving the Holidays” e-book, which includes contributions from familiar voices you love along with some new ones. A portion of the proceeds will benefit our nonprofit and the Thanksgiving Initiative.

At only $2.99, this e-book is a small investment that will pay off this holiday season. Pre-order it from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or iBooks to have it delivered directly to your device on November 17. It’s the perfect little gift to yourself.

Thank you for supporting the Thanksgiving Initiative in any way you can!
