After having four children, I managed to donate enough breastmilk to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records — not once, but twice!

A Challenging Beginning

It all started during a challenging time. Back in 2012, my eldest son, Jake, was only eight months old when he experienced a stroke. The two months he spent in the hospital were incredibly stressful, as I felt so helpless. At home, Jake had been drinking my pumped breastmilk since he couldn’t nurse directly. However, the medical team suggested switching to formula so they could closely monitor his caloric intake. That change made me feel like I was losing my ability to help him in some way.

Finding a New Purpose

But then the doctors reminded me that I could keep pumping and freezing my breastmilk. This way, if the team decided to switch back to breastmilk, I would be ready. Each ounce I collected felt like a little victory, knowing how important it could be for other babies too. I learned that every drop counts when it comes to helping little ones in need.
