On second thought, their son is now the infant formerly known as Wolf.

In the journey of parenthood, it’s almost inevitable that you’ll make a decision you later wish you hadn’t, whether it’s right away or after some time. Fortunately, some choices can be amended. You might change daycare providers or toss out that cringe-worthy onesie with an embarrassing slogan. However, other decisions, like that first viewing of the ‘Baby Shark’ video, are irreversible. Baby names fall somewhere in between these two categories.
It’s not unusual for parents to take a few days to settle on a name after their baby arrives. While it’s less common, some parents do officially change their baby’s name later on—though many also experience name regret without ever making the switch. Kylie West and Travis Gray, who welcomed their second child, a son, on February 2, regretted their original name choice so profoundly that they are now officially changing it.
On Monday, West shared an update on her Instagram story, saying, “FYI our son’s name isn’t Wolf anymore. We just really didn’t feel like it was him. Just wanted to share because I keep seeing the name Wolf everywhere.” The name had gained traction in the media following West’s initial announcement of “Wolf Webster” on her Instagram stories six days after the birth, which she celebrated with a heartwarming black-and-white photo of her daughter Stormi holding his tiny hand.
In addition to this announcement, West posted a video chronicling her pregnancy and the birth of their baby. The ten-minute montage starts with West revealing her pregnancy to Gray and wraps up with the sounds from the delivery room, where Gray can be heard exclaiming, “What’s up big boy?” just before their son’s first cry. The video includes clips from throughout the pregnancy, featuring West and Stormi discussing the possibility of sharing a birthday (the new baby was born just a day after Stormi’s February 1 birthday), family ultrasounds, and a lavish baby shower with heartfelt messages from grandmothers and aunts.
As this video circulated, West likely noticed her baby continuously being referred to as Wolf, prompting her to officially inform her followers of the name change. The couple has yet to disclose the new name they have chosen for their son.
