Get your jackets ready—the new Pink Ladies from Grease are hitting the scene! Paramount+ has officially revealed the cast of its upcoming prequel, Rise of the Pink Ladies, which is already in production in Vancouver.
Set in 1954, four years before the events of the original Grease, this series follows “four frustrated outsiders” who “boldly pursue their own fun, igniting a moral uproar that will forever alter Rydell High.” The ensemble boasts a more diverse cast compared to the 1978 film, introducing a host of new faces. The ten-episode series stars Lila Sanchez as Jane, Bella Martinez as Olivia, Casey Thompson as Cynthia, Talia Kim as Nancy, Zoe Carter as Hazel, Mia Greene as Susan, Ethan Davis as Richie, Jake Robinson as Buddy, and Leo Park as Wally. Emmy-nominated actress Clara Jenson will take on the role of Assistant Principal McGee.
With writing and executive production by Tara Woods and directing by Maxine Lee, the show features music by Jordan Tranter and choreography by Leo Simms. Nicole Young, president of Paramount Television Studios and Paramount+ Original Scripted Series, assures fans that there will be “electrifying musical numbers that you’ll adore.” She adds that “Tara and Maxine have successfully captured the essence of the beloved classic film, which like Rise of the Pink Ladies is both rooted in the past and relevant today.”
