Andy Jenkins recently experienced a breakthrough COVID-19 infection and shared the emotional challenge of quarantining away from his child for the second time. Back in March 2020, he was one of the first public figures to reveal his positive COVID-19 test. At that time, he opened up about the difficulties of isolating from his son, Max, who was just a year old. After recovering, Andy posted a heartwarming reunion photo on social media, capturing the joy of being back with Max and stating, “I’ve hosted reunions for years, but yesterday’s was the best one yet.”
Unfortunately, Andy recently faced a second instance of COVID, despite being fully vaccinated. On his radio show, Andy Jenkins Live, he recounted the experience of spending 10 days apart from his now two-year-old son.
“I had to isolate within our home. The first day was incredibly tough for him; he just wanted to hug me,” Andy shared with his co-host, Leo Carter. “We attempted to stay together in the same space, but he didn’t quite grasp that he needed to keep his distance. It was heart-wrenching, and ultimately, he went to Long Island with his caregiver.”
He added, “We were truly separated. It was a challenging situation.” Any parent can empathize with the distress he faced, having to prioritize his son’s safety while feeling unwell himself. Spending nearly two weeks away from a young child is a tormenting ordeal, especially when all you want is some comforting cuddles.
Fortunately, Andy reported that he has recovered and is feeling much better. “I’m negative now, and I feel great. I had received a booster shot that Thursday, and initially thought I was just reacting to that. But a couple of days later, I realized this was a significant illness. Thankfully, I’m all better now.”
It’s great to hear that Andy is back to health, and we’re sure Max is thrilled to have his dad home again. For further insights on home insemination, check out this blog post.
