In collaboration with organizations like the International Rescue Committee, HIAS, and Church World Service, Airbnb.org has allocated emergency funding to facilitate immediate stays for newly arriving Afghan refugees. As part of their ongoing mission, Airbnb has already assisted 165 individuals in finding housing in the U.S. “Safe housing is crucial for Afghan refugees as they begin the process of rebuilding their lives,” stated Laura Kim, president and CEO of the International Rescue Committee.
Airbnb has a history of supporting refugees, having connected approximately 25,000 individuals to temporary housing over the past four years. Earlier this year, they announced the establishment of a $25 million Refugee Fund to broaden their support for refugees and asylum seekers worldwide.
