Can you do self-insemination at home ?
In a recent survey by TODAY Parents, a staggering 83% of mothers reported experiencing significant burnout from parenting throughout the pandemic. It’s no surprise that parenting during COVID-19 has been challenging, but the extent of the overwhelm is now clearer. With over 1,200 mothers participating in the study, 69% indicated they felt overwhelmed, while 64% described the last year as “extremely hard.”
Moms have been juggling the safety of their families amidst the pandemic, alongside various stressors like job changes, moving, welcoming new babies and pets, and finding ways to keep their children entertained at home. Colorado resident Ava Thompson shared her story, saying, “I became a stay-at-home mom in early 2020, and it’s been more challenging than working full-time. After relocating across the country and facing constant daycare closures, I’m left trying to manage two energetic boys while maintaining my sanity.”
Similarly, Sarah Jenkins from New York opened up about her mental health struggles during this time. “Parenting was already difficult, but being confined at home, managing work responsibilities, and household duties has taken a toll on me,” she revealed.
The study also highlighted that the burden of household responsibilities has increased, with 83% of moms reporting they handle 60%% or more of the chores. Alarmingly, 60%% say they rarely take time for themselves, pushing many closer to total burnout. Dr. Mia Rivera, a pediatrician, emphasized the importance of self-care, stating, “Moms need regular moments to reflect and recharge. Centering ourselves helps us navigate the daily chaos, whether it’s a toddler tantrum or unexpected interruptions.”
Despite the challenges, many moms remain hopeful, with 55%% believing the next year will be better, thanks in part to the rollout of COVID vaccines and the gradual reopening of schools and activities. Let’s all hope for the much-needed rest and personal time that has been elusive since last spring.
