On #BumpDay, we emphasize the urgent need for pregnancy and postpartum care that is accessible to every mother and baby, regardless of their background or financial situation.

What is #BumpDay?

At At Home Insemination, we firmly believe that every mother is entitled to respectful and responsive maternal care that ensures both her and her baby’s health. This care should continue beyond childbirth. This #BumpDay, we are focusing on the postpartum period, which, while often filled with joy and bonding, can also pose significant risks for many mothers. Alarmingly, about 35% of maternal deaths in the United States occur within the 42 days following birth, and nearly two out of three fatalities happen within the first year postpartum. This critical phase is marked by potential complications, and lack of proper care can make a life-or-death difference. This situation is unacceptable.

We invite you to join us on Wednesday, July 23, to advocate for necessary policy changes and healthcare standards that guarantee every mother receives the care she deserves.

It’s easy to show your support! Share a photo of your baby bump—whether it’s your own or someone you cherish—using the hashtag #BumpDay. At Home Insemination will be sharing personal narratives from families who have encountered obstacles in accessing postpartum care, and we encourage you to share your own story as well. A simple message of solidarity can go a long way: Every mother deserves a safe pregnancy and postpartum experience.

Participate in #BumpDay:

  1. Share your story or show your support. If you have faced challenges in obtaining high-quality maternity or postpartum care, express your experience on social media. Alternatively, share a bump photo—yours or a loved one’s. For resources to help with home insemination, check out the BabyMaker at Home Insemination Kit.
