Now, a year later, Amanda is feeling the weight of that loss. “My heart aches today. I wish I could go back, run to him as he walked away, and hold him one last time,” she expresses. “On April 1, he went on the ventilator, and I never spoke to him again.”
As she navigates through this painful anniversary, Amanda is also thinking of others who have experienced similar heartache. “To anyone who, like me, dropped off their loved one at the hospital, never to see them again, I’m sending thoughts and prayers your way. This day is just incredibly hard,” she shares.
Amanda became a prominent figure on social media as she documented their journey through Nick’s illness, highlighting both the progress and setbacks he faced until his untimely passing at just 41. She continues to cherish Nick’s memory while raising Max, ensuring he knows his father despite the time apart.
