Boudoir photography has taken an amusing twist, thanks to a hilarious T-Rex costume that is making waves. Couples have been incorporating dinosaurs into their special moments, from engagement sessions to wedding day surprises. However, it’s Chloe Adams from Calgary, Alberta who truly stands out as the queen of quirky boudoir with her unforgettable T-Rex-themed shoot.

Chloe shared with us that the idea sparked from a light-hearted conversation in her local moms’ group. “One of my friends jokingly mentioned a T-Rex boudoir session she’d done, and with my wedding approaching, I knew I had to do something similar,” she recalled. Her friend, photographer Mia Thompson, eagerly volunteered to help, even providing the inflatable costume for the shoot. “Chloe and I connected through our parenting group a few years ago, and I’ve been capturing her family moments ever since. She wanted to add a splash of fun for her husband, and the dinosaur costume was the perfect fit,” Mia explained.

This is what supportive mom groups are all about—being there for each other during the ups and downs of parenting, and jumping in when a friend wants to spice things up with a dino-themed photoshoot.

The Photoshoot Experience

The session itself was a riot, according to Mia. “I had never photographed anything like this before. Chloe’s movements were so restricted in the costume, and we couldn’t stop laughing. At one point, I had to pause because I was crying from laughter, and my mascara was running!”

While boudoir photos are typically sultry, Chloe found herself in quite the opposite situation in the T-Rex suit. “It was incredibly hot inside that costume! And moving around was a challenge,” she laughed. The photos were taken while her fiancé was away for his bachelor party, but her three-year-old son almost blew her cover. “My son Lucas thought it was the coolest thing ever and nearly spoiled the surprise when my fiancé Chris returned home by exclaiming, ‘Mommy’s a dinosaur!’ Luckily, we have a dinosaur-themed bathroom, so I quickly said we were just playing pretend,” she recounted.

The Big Reveal

Chloe and Chris tied the knot on July 1st, making them newlyweds. Although she was excited to surprise her husband with the photos, the reveal didn’t go precisely as planned. She created a photo book for him and handed it over before the wedding, but when Chris spotted the boudoir images at the front, he quickly shut it to avoid embarrassment in front of his groomsmen. Eventually, when he did check the book properly, he erupted in laughter for a good half hour. “He said he should have kept going when he saw the photo of me in the costume!” Chloe said.

Not everyone found her idea amusing, though. “My youngest son, Max, was only nine months old at the time and he was not a fan of the costume,” she added.

Bringing Humor to Intimacy

Sure, a dino-themed boudoir shoot might be considered over-the-top, but who wouldn’t want to bring some humor to their intimate moments? No need for serious poses or worrying about hiding the photos from curious kids years down the line. Most importantly, your partner will always remember that you’re a unique and playful spirit.
