Cheese’s has teamed up with the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) to launch “Sensory-Friendly Sundays.” This initiative will take place at their Attleboro, Massachusetts location, with events scheduled for the first Sunday of each month.
“We are thrilled to offer a dedicated time each month for families with sensory sensitivities to enjoy our delicious pizza and engaging games in a welcoming environment that promotes understanding and acceptance,” said Laura Jennings, manager of Chuck E. Cheese’s Attleboro, in a recent announcement. The inaugural sensory-friendly event occurred on November 6, running from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the next one planned for December 4.
Additionally, Chuck E. Cheese’s in Glen Burnie, Maryland, holds its own sensory-sensitive event, featuring lower noise levels and dimmed lighting from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the second Sunday of each month. “I personally attend these sensory days with my children, and it provides a wonderful opportunity for not only our kids to play in a calm space but also for us parents to connect with others who understand our experiences,” shared Mark Thompson, assistant manager at the Glen Burnie location. “Our staff for these events is specially trained to be empathetic and supportive, which creates a joyous atmosphere for all involved.”
This initiative by Chuck E.
