In my household, I’ve come to realize that I possess a unique set of skills that no one else seems to share. Here are the things that, somehow, only I can manage:

  1. Change the Toilet Paper Roll
It’s a mystery how my family can’t seem to grasp the simple concept of swapping out an empty roll. Leaving just a few sheets behind to avoid the task is not a clever strategy.
  2. Dispose of Food Wrappers
Muffin and cheese stick wrappers often find their way to the kitchen counter, just inches from the trash can, as if my family believes it’s a game of proximity.
  3. Clean Up Paper Scraps
After crafting sessions that involve making snowflakes, I’m left to deal with a paper blizzard. If only I could charge a quarter for every scrap left behind, I’d be a millionaire!
  4. Recycle Empty Food Containers
It’s baffling how containers end up on the counter or back in the fridge instead of the recycling bin. Is it really that hard?
  5. Throw Away Anything
Let’s be honest—this isn’t exclusive to my family. The garbage can is merely a few steps away, so why does it remain ignored?
  6. Recognize an Overflowing Trash Can
I must be the only person capable of noticing when the garbage is spilling over. It’s a not-so-glamorous superpower.
  7. Hang Up Hand Towels
My four-year-old has an excuse, but everyone else can surely manage to hang up towels after washing their hands. Yet, they never do.
  8. Hang Up Bath Towels
This task follows the same logic as towel #7—why is it so difficult?
  9. Aim for the Hamper
I don’t understand the urge to throw clothes on the floor when the hamper is literally right there. It’s just plain mean.
  10. Load the Dishwasher
The dishwasher exists for a reason, yet my family struggles to understand that dirty dishes belong inside it. It’s not rocket science!
  11. Answer Questions
While I appreciate the trust in my knowledge, why come to me with questions when Dad is right there? Give him a shot too.
  12. Locate Missing Items
My family seems to think that standing in one spot and lamenting over lost items qualifies as searching.
  13. Find Food in the Fridge
Looking for something in the fridge shouldn’t mean waiting for it to magically appear. Open the door, scan, and grab!
  14. Spot Food in the Door
Finding items in the fridge door should be easy. “It’s right there!” I exclaim, often to deaf ears.
  15. Kiss Away Boo-Boos
This one is undoubtedly true. There’s something about a mom’s kiss that works wonders, though I suspect Dad’s kisses have some magic too.

I’m certainly not the only mom with these seemingly superhuman abilities, right? I’d love to hear if any of you share these unique struggles. In summary, being a mom comes with a host of responsibilities that often feel exclusive to us. From changing toilet paper rolls to answering questions, we seem to juggle it all. But maybe, just maybe, we’re not as alone in these tasks as we think!
