4 Things Moms Should Never Be Expected to Share

Moms are known for their generosity, but there are certain things that should remain off-limits. While we often share everything from our time to our snacks with our children, there are boundaries that should never be crossed. Here’s a lighthearted look at four things that no mom should ever have to share.

1. Sick Days

Growing up, my mother would pamper me when I was unwell, bringing me toast, tea, and comforting soup. Now that I’m a mother myself, I want to provide the same care for my kids when they’re sick. However, if they decide to fall ill on the same day I’m battling a fever, they might just find themselves fending for themselves. Sorry, kiddos, but this mama has reached her limit.

2. Bath Time

If a mom manages to carve out time for a relaxing bath, she has definitely earned that peace. But just as I settle in for a moment of tranquility, the door swings open. “Hi, Mommy!” comes the familiar voice, and suddenly my blissful escape is interrupted by requests to use the bathroom or fears of monsters lurking in the shadows. Can a mom catch a break?

3. Toilet Time

Once children enter the picture, privacy becomes a luxury. My little ones seem particularly curious about my bathroom habits. Just the other day, my daughter offered to help me with something I’d rather handle alone. While the gesture was certainly sweet, having a tiny spectator during such personal moments is not quite what I signed up for.

4. Delicious Home-Baked Treats

After finally getting the kids to bed, there’s nothing quite like indulging in a gooey, homemade dessert. However, it’s a nightmare when someone else beats me to it. And let’s be honest, if they don’t have my gluten intolerance, it’s downright infuriating when they devour my special stash of gluten-free goodies. Maybe next time, I’ll mix in a little something extra to keep them at bay!

In conclusion, while sharing is a big part of motherhood, there are moments and items that should remain personal. After all, every mom deserves a little something to call her own, especially after a long day.
