A baby girl weighing 13.5 pounds is making waves online with her irresistibly cute photos. Every newborn is a remarkable gift, and those of us who have navigated the journey of pregnancy and childbirth deserve all the accolades we can get. However, we have to give an extra round of applause to Sarah Jenkins, who recently welcomed a hefty bundle of joy into the world.

That’s right—her beautiful daughter, Mia, tipped the scales at an impressive 13.5 pounds. “It felt like they pulled a toddler out of me,” Sarah Jenkins from Clearwater, Florida, shared with ABC News. Mia was born on May 15 at Clearwater Medical Center, and her size took everyone by surprise.

“When the doctor was delivering her, I could hear laughter and excitement coming from the team in the operating room,” Sarah recounted. “They were throwing out weight guesses, and when they finally revealed it was 13.5 pounds, I was in disbelief.”

It’s understandable why she’d be shocked! I may be a bit removed from the baby phase, but aren’t expectant mothers usually given estimates on their baby’s sizes? It’s crucial for mothers to have some idea of what to expect when bringing new life into this world.

“It was wild,” Sarah continued. “The doctor exclaimed, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s going to be 15 pounds! Is there another baby in there?’” Any mom who has had a larger baby knows the feeling when the staff begins to joke about weight. I can relate; my smallest child was 8.3 pounds and born three weeks early! Thank goodness for C-sections, right?

Proud father, Tom Jenkins, chimed in, “She’s like a 6-month-old already. We reached out to Pampers and Huggies for help because nothing we bought for her fits. She’s already in size 3 diapers, and the outfit she wore yesterday was meant for 9 months!”

While it might be amusing to describe their daughter in such terms, it’s all in good fun. Tom also mentioned that Sarah had always struggled with anemia and had to undergo three blood transfusions during the C-section due to her low iron levels. “But both of them are doing fantastic now,” Tom added. “Sarah is a real trooper through it all.”

Can we get this incredible woman a medal, please?
